I’m still not so sure about what programming language I should learn next.

Not sure if this is the right topic.

  • Java
  • Shell
  • TypeScript

If you’re looking for any languages with similarities to Lua and pretty good, I would suggest julia. It’s a pretty good programming language similar to Lua if you are wanting to go into something that you will understand simply and into Data Science.

If you would like to see more on OOP, then I would suggest C languages.

I also suggest Java as it compiles code really quickly.

If this was a personal choice, I would actually learn Ruby because I heard it’s really similar to Lua and can be used for multiple things.
I have a Ruby document which is written up by a friend I can share with you. But this forum does not accept that type of files so hit me up on discord if you would like to take a look at it.

I suggest Java. It is a high demanding, easy to learn, and a really useful language.

By learning Java, you have basically learned another language, C# (both Java and C# are practically the same) and C# is a really nice Windows-based language that you can make -

  • Unity games
  • Easy graphical interfaces (using Visual Studio)
  • etc

Java is your go-to language.
